Krav Maga

Krav Maga is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It is also the preferred system of the U.S. Military and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga is not a traditional Martial Art. There are no uniforms required. Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality based system is designed to teach real self-defense in the shortest possible time. Students learn to defend against common chokes, grabs and bear hugs as well as weapons such as knives, guns and sticks. Just as important students are taught to function during the stress and shock of a sudden, violent encounter. Tested on the battlefield and in the streets, Krav Maga"s practical approach to self-defense makes students feel safer and more secure. This is an adult program (ages 12+). The class is a great workout including boot-camp type exercises as well as punching and kicking bags with partners. The "Fight Club" class is for students looking for a more contact approach to the techniques (includes ground fighting).

Tae Kwon Do: Taekwondo (also spelled tae kwon do or taekwon-do) is a martial art originating in Korea. An mix of Chinese, Japanese, and traditional Korean fighting styles, taekwondo has become the world's most commonly practiced martial art, and is the national sport of Korea as well as an Olympic sporting event. In Korean, derived from hanja, , tae means "to strike or smash with the foot"; kwon means "to strike or smash with the hand"; and do means "way" or "path". Hence, taekwondo is loosely translated as "the way of the foot and the fist". Taekwondo's popularity has resulted in the divergent evolution of the martial art. As with many other martial arts, taekwondo is a combination of combat technique, self-defense, sport, exercise, entertainment, and philosophy. Although there are great doctrinal and technical differences among public and private taekwondo organizations, the art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance, using the leg's greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance. In sparring, turning (roundhouse), 45 degree, front, axe, and side kicks are most often used; advanced kicks include jump, spin, skip, and drop kicks, often in combination. Taekwondo training also includes a comprehensive system of hand strikes and blocks, but generally does not emphasize grappling.

Kara-Ho Kempo: Kara-Ho is the explosive mix of modern self defense techniques designed for the street and traditional martial arts elements. It was developed by Professor Chow, the legendary, Great Grandmaster and founder of modern Kempo together with the current Grandmaster, Sam Alama Kuoha. The system holds a very high moral standard, to ensure the responsibility bearing of anyone knowing these techniques. No other system is striving for excellency in this way to ensure the safety of our students Due to this fact, Kara-Ho Kempo is suitable for everyone.

Aikido:Japanese art of self-defense. It employs locks and holds and utilizes the principle of nonresistance to cause an opponent's own momentum to work against him or her. Aikido emphasizes the importance of achieving complete mental calm and control of one's own body to master an opponent's attack. There are no offensive moves. It traces its origins to Japanese martial (samurai) traditions dating to the 14th century, and it was developed as a modern form in the early 20th century by Ueshiba Morihei.

Black Belt Club

Black Belt Club is a program for elite students looking for a more serious commitment to training. Benefits include lower monthly rates, pro shop and tournament discounts, fun-filled events (parties, ice skating, outings, etc.), additional classes/lessons and distinctive uniforms and patches. Students must have outstanding academic status, write an essay explaining their desire to be in Black Belt Club and show exceptional determination in training. Students must be in Black Belt Club to participate in demonstrations.

Keichu-Do, sometimes referred to as "Cajun Karate", is really a multi-faceted, comprehensive martial arts system that includes elements of karate, judo, jiujitsu, wrestling, boxing, Cajun street fighting, etc.

What does this mean to you? Most importantly, if you train in Keichu, you will be a well-rounded martial artist well versed in a variety of self-defense skills. Your training, because it is so diverse, will always offer fresh challenges and new material to master and learn. Your workouts will never get stale or overly repetitive. The physical fitness benefits are far greater than what is offered by a more limited workout.

Keichu-Do is an American art, designed to teach Americans to defend themselves against typically American street attacks. It emphasizes mental, physical, and moral fitness.

Our instructors are concerned with each student as a whole individual. Our students train mind, body, and spirit. We don't just want you to be the best martial artist you can be; we want you to become the best person you can be, so that you can dream greater dreams---and achieve them. Our program can be an excellent means of self-improvement.

Keichu-Do means "totally devoted to the way".

We believe that diligence, effort, dedication, and old-fashioned hard work should be rewarded. We encourage excellence and we help each student strive towards his or her personal best. Students who achieve excellence in the dojo are less willing to settle for mediocrity in the rest of their lives, be it work, school, or other endeavors. Our unique class structure encourages entire families to train together. As we often say, "The family that kicks together sticks together!" Over the years, a number of families have trained together all the way to black belt level. Keichu-Do is an exciting and fun way to bond as a family. Our students of all ages have the opportunity to experience healthy, fun competition in the dojo and at tournaments on the local, state, regional, national, and international levels.

Keichu-Do is, at its foundation, judeo-christian in philosophy.

Most martial arts stem from a specific religious or philosophical worldview. Keichu is no exception. While we gladly teach students of all faith backgrounds, it is our prayer that all will come to know the Peace of Christ. Those who are involved in beliefs compatible with a judeo-christian heritage especially appreciate that Keichu-Do will not compromise their beliefs or counteract what they are teaching their children.
